THE ART CONTEST “WE IN ME 2023” BEGINS: WE IN WE – A SENSE OF CONNECTION TO THE ENTIRETY WITHIN & BEYOND YOU

With the desire to create opportunities for the young generation of Vietnam to freely express their thoughts and responsibility to the community through a modern and creative thinking, WE IN WE 2023 art contest with its theme “WE IN ME – A SENSE OF CONNECTION TO THE ENTIRETY WITHIN & BEYOND YOU” was born to help nurture young potentials and bring them closer to the public locally and internationally, contributing to raising awareness about the importance of arts education.
This is a pioneering art contest in order to cultivate young Vietnamese talents by the Vietnam Contemporary Visual Arts Academy (VCVAA) honored to accompany the short-term educational program from the University of Fine Arts London (UALSC) held for the first time in Vietnam.
1. ABOUT THE ORGANIZER:
• VIETNAM CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTS ACADEMY (VCVAA) is a part of the EMBASSY EDUCATION ecosystem, offers pioneering international standard education programs for students aged 2-18, (including signature subjects such as: Drawing, Painting, 3-Dimensional art, Fashion Design, Photography and Digital Arts). VCVAA programs address both the short and long-term learning and development needs of students at all levels, from beginner to professional.
• UALSC (UAL Short Courses) is a short-term training program of the UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS LONDON (UAL). UAL is the world Top 2 university for art and design according to the QS World University Rankings® and Europe’s largest specialist university for art and design, voted one of the UK’s best modern universities by The Sunday Times University Guide. UALSC is integrated into the VCVAA curriculum. Students who complete this program will be awarded an international certificate from UALSC.
2. ABOUT THE CONTEST:
The contest provides an open playground for the young Vietnamese generation of various ages and forms with the goal of becoming an annual art event and providing opportunities for the young generation of Vietnam to express their thoughts and duties to the community through a modern and creative thinking. Participating works will be reviewed and evaluated by leading experts in the field of art.
Contestants are free to create work of their desired size and use any artistic practice, including but not limited to: drawing, painting, collages, digital photography, sculpture, weaving, etc.
3. PARTICIPANTS:
The contest is available to all Vietnamese children and young people aged 5 to 18 who live in Vietnam. Entries are classified into four age groups:
  • KIDS: 5 – 7 years old
  • JUNIORS: 8 – 11 years old
  • TEENS: 12 – 16 years old
  • YOUNG ADULTS: 17 – 18 years old

  • Animal/Landscape
  • Abstract/Experimental
  • Still Life/Interior

Round 1 (online):
May 18, 2023: Collecting artworks
May 20, 2023: Results announcement
Round 2 (offline):
May 24, 2023: Collecting artworks
May 25, 2023: Artworks exhibition
May 27, 2023: Results announcement
6. PRIZE STRUCTURE:
The total prize value is more than 200,000,000 VND, includes:
A. JUNIORS, TEENS, YOUNG ADULTS:
Prizes allocated into each age group, includes:
01 First prize
– Scholarship at VCVAA worths: 20,000,000 VND. Applied to all courses.
– Certifications from UALSC and VCVAA.
– Art kits
02 Second prizes
Each prize includes:
– Scholarship at VCVAA worths: 10,000,000 VND. Applied to all courses.
– Certifications from UALSC and VCVAA.
– Art kits
03 Third prizes
Each prize includes:
– Scholarship at VCVAA worths: 5,000,000 VND. Applied to all courses.
– Certifications from UALSC and VCVAA.
– Art kits
05 Encouragement prizes
Each prize includes:
– Scholarship at VCVAA worths: 2,000,000 VND. Applied to all courses.
– Certifications from UALSC and VCVAA.
– Art kits
B. KIDS
05 Inspiration prizes
Each prize includes:
– Scholarship at VCVAA worths: 2,000,000 VND. Applied to all courses.
– Certifications from UALSC and VCVAA.

7. REGULATIONS AND HOW TO SUBMISSION:
An entry is valid if it contains all of the data from the registration link, including a section showing the profile: introduce yourself and your artworks in no more than 400 words.
Round 1 (online):
Entries must be submitted in a digital file format. Each contestant will be able to submit a maximum of 3 artworks. Required image format for artwork: JPG file (file size <200 MB) and submit on the form as a drive link.
Round 2 (offline):
The artworks selected for the second round will be sent to Vietnam Contemporary Visual Arts Academy (VCVAA) for display and evaluation.
*Note: Only original artworks created by the contestants themselves, will be considered eligible.

8. OTHER NOTES:
  • Each contestant can submit a maximum of 3 artworks. Each artwork will take one time in registration.
  • The organizer will have the full right to use the winning artworks for media and archival purposes, excluding commercial purposes. The organizer is not responsible for issues related to copyright, disputes (if any) later.
  • Prizes for unqualified artworks (if any) will be forfeited if fraud or piracy is found.
  • After submitting the artwork, contestants will receive a confirmation email/message at the registered email address/phone number and the entries will be transferred to the judging panel.
  • Artworks selected for round 2: contestants are responsible for sending original works to VCVAA at 214-216 Pasteur, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3, HCMC.
