As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the Student Life Enrichment program returns with a special Art Fieldtrip – “The Story of Lanterns” for SIA Faculty of Visual Arts students.

Stepping into the serene 160-year-old Sơn Trà Communal House, students will discover a vibrant collection of traditional lanterns recreated by Khởi Đăng Tác Khí. Beyond exploring the exhibition, activities like enjoying mooncakes and tea, playing with tò he figurines, and decorating lanterns will deepen their understanding of Mid-Autumn traditions.

With the theme “The Praying Mantis Grabs Fire”, the exhibition recalls folk tales of the praying mantis while highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage and traditional values.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

• Check-in & Warm-up (5 minutes)
• Guided tour – Explore 40 types of lanterns & listen to the story “The Praying Mantis Grabs Fire” (15 minutes)
• Tea time with mooncakes & free play with tò he (5 minutes)
• Group activity – Lantern decorating (15 minutes)
• Sharing & reflections (15 minutes)
• Wrap-up & Closing (5 minutes)
