Under the impact of the pandemic, the need for emotional care and social interaction skills in children is more important than ever, in order to help them recover from psychological trauma after recent changes.
Understanding the importance of orienting and developing children’s emotional intelligence, especially from the perspective of teachers, educational administrators from preschool to elementary school, Vietnam Contemporary Visual Arts Academy (VCVAA) is pleased to accompany Dr. Bui Tran Phuong, to organize the Workshop “DESIGN THINKING – CREATIVE SOLUTIONS IN SOCIAL EMOTIONAL EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN”.
At the workshop, Dr. Bui Tran Phuong and VCVAA will share experiences and knowledge in recognizing children’s emotions in the first years of school to find solutions to help children nurture and develop their emotions, including Design Thinking – an innovative solution that contributes to social-emotional education, especially in the new normal. By learning how to apply Design Thinking in the school environment, teachers and schools can together create a holistic development environment for students, encouraging interesting discoveries in them, and make parents more secure with their choice of educational environment.
At the seminar, VCVAA hopes to bring useful information to teachers and education managers through the following contents:
*Social & Emotional Competence – Social & Emotional Learing, importance for children, parents, teachers & schools
*Concept of Design Thinking method
*Nurturing and developing SEL by Design Thinking method

Dr. BUI TRAN PHUONG
She is a historical researcher, Former Principal of Hoa Sen University. She graduated with a BA in History from the University of Paris in 1972, a Master degree in History from the University of Paris VII in 1994, and successfully defended her PhD in History at the University of Lyon 2, France in 2008. She was awarded the Knight’s Honour by the President of France in 2012 and the Legion of Honor medal in 2014, for her contributions to promoting the cooperation between France and Vietnam in the field of culture and education.
In 2013, she received the award “For the mission of culture and education” from the Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation in 2013, for her meaningful, long-term contribution to the renovation of higher education and colleges in Vietnam. In 2017, she was honoured in the list of “20 most influential women in Vietnam” voted by Forbes Magazine.
We believe that, with the experience of educational management and the research brought by Dr. Bui Tran Phuong, the seminar will be beneficial to teachers and educational managers, helping them create a positive development environment for students.
