PROFICIENT PROGRAM

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Advanced Drawing Program is designed for students aged 12 to over 15 who have a desire to develop their drawing skills with an emphasis on experimentation and realism. The teaching method ensures a balance between practical exercises, exploratory thinking, and experimentation, along with the advancement of drawing skills and techniques. Project-based learning is also implemented to support students’ development and analysis, as well as evaluation of the creative process.

CURRICULUM

Develop mark-making skills and enhance the quality of drawing expressions.
Enhance observation skills, precise coordination between hand and eye to support shaping and constructing.
Carry out personal projects to address artistic problems/challenges, from ideation to the completion of artworks.
Cultivate self-confidence in making choices and decisions during the creative art process.
Explore personal interests, creative motivations, as well as individual perspectives and drawing styles.

LEARNING GOALS

The classes are structured utilizing the “Studio thinking” methodology, emphasizing the development of artwork through exploration, experimentation, and research to form original ideas from the students. The course focuses on guiding students to practice drawing based on themes and techniques while also providing opportunities for students to explore and develop their own creative projects. In addition to the course instructor, students have the opportunity to learn from UAL teachers and guest artists.
