GENERAL

The program helps enhance experiential knowledge and develop confidence in creativity and expression for students through various visual arts media such as drawing, painting, printing, crafts, mixed media, and 3D creation. The teaching methods and learning environment focus on fostering imagination, experimental thinking, and supporting the development of social-emotional skills alongside language abilities for students.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Familiarize students with practical art thinking groups such as exploration and experimentation, imagination, expression, artwork development, observation, evaluation, passion, and perseverance, while understanding the art world.
2. Create a safe and supportive environment for children to confidently use a variety of materials and tools for creation.
3. Develop expression skills and creative abilities from children’s original thoughts and ideas through visual language.
4. Enhance knowledge and the ability to apply elements (color, line, shape, space, and texture) and design principles (focusing on patterns and repetition).
5. Support the holistic development of children, emphasizing social-emotional skills and language abilities

METHOD

The lessons are designed based on the ‘Studio Thinking’ approach, focusing on developing artworks through a process of exploration and experimentation with materials and tools, stemming from the students’ original ideas. In addition to hands-on and experiential sessions, students also have opportunities to learn through direct interactions with artists, visit exhibitions, and showcase their own artworks outside the classroom.

LEARNING OUTCOME

  • Express thoughts, feelings, and ideas through visual and tactile media, alongside spoken language and body language.
  • Experiment with and safely use a variety of tools and materials for creation.
  • Share the creative process of their artwork and explain their artistic choices.
  • Provide an overview and relate emotions to their own works and those of others.
  • Gain self-awareness and connect with themselves (such as emotions, interests, family, friends, etc.).
  • Embrace and respect differences, sharing and collaborating with others.
  • Feel more comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity, and be willing to try new things and face challenges.
  • Be motivated to practice creation outside of class and be able to explain their favorite media and materials.
