“GREEN” LANTERN WORKSHOP – MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, the Vietnam Contemporary Visual Arts Academy (VCVAA) is partnering with Soul Music & Performing Arts Academy to organize the “Green” Lantern Workshop – Mid-Autumn Festival, exclusively for parents and students currently enrolled at the academies. VCVAA and Soul hope that this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival will be a truly memorable event for parents and children to enjoy the vibrant and joyful atmosphere of the festival through lantern-making activities using recycled, eco-friendly materials to create beautiful lanterns for the lantern parade and moon celebration.

Schedule: The event will take place over 3 days:

• Friday, 06.09.2024: 4:00 – 5:00 PM (for Soul students only)

• Saturday, 07.09.2024: 2:00 – 3:00 PM (for VCVAA students only)

• Sunday, 08.09.2024: 2:00 – 3:00 PM (for both VCVAA and Soul students)

Location: VCVAA Studio – Youth Cultural House – No. 4 Pham Ngoc Thach, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1

Age group: 6 years and older

Limited spots: 12 students

Registration deadline: Before 6:00 PM on 04/09/2024

***Note:

– The registration deadline may close earlier if the maximum number of participants is reached.

– Each participating family includes 1 parent and 1 student.

– Each family can only participate in one time slot.

– As the lantern-making activity uses recycled materials, VCVAA encourages each family to bring an unlimited number of used plastic bottles.

MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

The Mid-Autumn Festival – a time for family reunion and togetherness, is deeply embedded with traditional values, symbolized by the shimmering lanterns, colorful mooncakes, and the vibrant sounds of lion dance drums. Understanding the significance of this occasion, VCVAA with Soul Institute of Arts (SIA) is delighted to offer our students and their families a complete and warm Mid-Autumn experience through our Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration.

Exciting Activities

The Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration at SIA promises a space brimming with joy and excitement, where students will enjoy spectacular performances and traditional lion dances. Every moment of the festival is meticulously prepared to bring joy and excitement to the children while evoking wonderful childhood memories for adults.

The festival goes beyond performances, offering students a full experience of the Mid-Autumn atmosphere with lantern parades and mooncake feasts. The sight of vibrant lanterns and families walking hand in hand under the golden moonlight will certainly create a memorable scene.
